Best of Welsh Bake-off Competition 2017!
Our popular baking competition is back, and we’re inviting anyone who loves baking at home to enter! There’s also a junior category, so this is a perfect opportunity for budding bakers to have a go too!
This year’s competition cake is a classic 8” coffee and walnut cake – deliciously sweet and rich, who doesn’t love a slice of this indulgent treat with their morning coffee or afternoon tea?
To enter, all you have to do is bring your home-made coffee and walnut cake in a tin or container, together with your completed entry form (see below) to the Festival on Saturday 16th September by 4.00pm. Entries will be judged by a team of judges, and the winners will receive a competition trophy and certificate from the WI to be presented by celebrity chef, Jean-Christophe Novelli, on Sunday afternoon.
Hard copies of the entry forms can be picked up in various cafes and shops in and around Mold, and from My Hair Lady, on New Street.
There’s plenty of time to start practising – good luck!
