CELEBRITY CHEFS
RACHEL ALLEN

BBC1 star chef Rachel Allen is set to grace the cookery stage on Saturday, September 20.
Dublin-born Rachel has enjoyed huge success as a busy TV chef, author, journalist and mother. She has had her own shows on the BBC including Rachel’s Favourite Food at Home, and is a regular guest on Saturday Kitchen, which is hosted by last year’s celebrity chef James Martin.
Rachel left home at 18 to study at the world-famous Ballymaloe Cookery School.
As well as combining all the above, she also still teaches at Ballymaloe. Her
style of cooking is above all practical - simple but delicious food, ideal
for family and friends. Her influences are both regional and global. The BBC
describes her as an "Irish cooking queen" and Good Food magazine
believe she "has put Irish cooking on the map in recent years".

GINO D'ACAMPO

Taking centre stage in the cookery demonstration theatre on Sunday, September
21 is Gino D’Acampo, the charismatic Italian chef. Born in Napoli, Gino
inherited his grandfather's (head chef for Costa Cruise Ships) love of cooking
and entered the Luigi de Medici Catering College at the age of thirteen. He
graduated with masters and continued to develop his skills through the kitchens
of restaurants in Europe, including Perignon in Nice and as Head Chef at Sylvester
Stallone’s Mambo King in Marbella.
He came to Britain in 1995, working at The Orchard Restaurant in Hampstead
and the Cambio Restaurant in Guildford.
Gino is now the owner of a leading supplier of Italian ingredients to the UK food industry (Bontà Italia Ltd). His television credits include a regular slot on BBC2 show Ready Steady Cook and numerous appearances on Saturday Cooks and Daily Cooks. He has also had his own shows like Chef v Britain and An Italian in Mexico, and was a judge in last year’s ITV success Soapstar Superchef.
Chairman of the Mold Hotel and Restaurant association Greg Shankar said: “We are absolutely delighted that Rachel and Gino will be joining us for this year’s event. Both are excellent chefs, as well as being big stars on television.
“Anyone who has seen them on television will know how charismatic and enthusiastic they are, and we know they will be fantastic. Visitors to this year’s event really are in for a treat.”
