There will be a fantastic variety of local bands, musicians, singers and other performers appearing on the outdoor stage over the Festival weekend! For a quick glance to see who’s on when, view the timetable here, and see below for further information.

Mold Town Band

The band was originally formed as the Argoed Concert Band in 1997. Adopted by Mold Town Council in 1999 we became Mold Town Band. Then in 2002 we changed our name to Mold Town Concert Band.

We currently consist of approximately 40 very friendly musicians who play a variety of wind instruments. We are open to all ages from school students through to retired members. Ages 11 to 81 at present!

Strictly Saxes

Enjoy the sweet sound of Strictly Saxes, four saxophones plus percussion playing well known jazz, film classics and 60s to present day tunes.

Pentennyn. Pedwarawd gwerin yw Pentennyn sy’n canu a chwarae caneuon ac alawon yn bennaf o’r traddodiadCymreig ond hefyd o darddiadau eraill. Mae Pentennyn ynmwynhau canu eu trefniadau bywiog o’r cyfarwydd a’rnewydd ac maen’t hefyd yn hen lawiau ar gadw twmpath. Aml offerynnol, aml leisiol ac aml ddiwylliannol, maePentennyn yn hwyliog a diddannol.

Pentennyn. A folk quartet, Pentennyn mainly sing and play songs and melodies from the Welsh tradition but also from other origins. Pentennyn enjoy singing their lively arrangements of the familiar and new and are also an experttwmpath (barn dance/ceilidh) band. Many instruments, many voices, many traditions, Pentennyn are lively and entertaining.

Jim Bazley

Jim has an extraordinary talent. He is an exceptional guitarist and sets the audience alight with his renditions of classic songs. He has to be seen to be believed!

Cor Y Pentan

Our Choir is a mixed voice community choir based in Mold and is led by musical director, Yvonne Davies and accompanist Lydia Edwards. We sing in Welsh and many members are adult Welsh learners. Over the years we have competed in national and local eisteddfodau and performed at various charity events, weddings and other functions. If you like what you hear, then please come along to one of our practice sessions – Wednesday nights in the Pentan pub in Mold at 7.30 pm during term time.

The Drive

The Drive are a young three piece band from Buckley who have been gigging since 2013. Playing a mix of original material and covers by artists such as Kings of Leon,  Arctic Monkeys, Franz Ferdinand, Green Day, T Rex, etc., they have built a loyal following and are making a name for themselves throughout North Wales & beyond.

Six Ton Dog

We are a three piece covers band, playing across a variety of styles from Abba to ZZ Top with occasional tunes of our own. Our usual set is comprised of popular rock covers, but we also have acoustic and Welsh language sets as well. Over the past few years, we have gone from strength to strength, playing at numerous weddings and festivals as far afield as Belgium, but we still love to get back to our roots and play at local events and venues.

50 Hertz

50 Hertz is a 3 piece rock band from Mold with Tony Williams on guitar and vocals, Chris Williams on bass and vocals, and Alex Dorricott on drums. The band has been performing in the North Wales area for the last 10 years playing covers and original material.

They take their influence from bands includingThe Jam. The Who, Foo Fighters, Oasis and The Police to name a few.

Joel Anthony

Australian singer songwriter, Joel, has made his home in the UK and plays at gigs and festivals up and down the country.  His laid back style and mix of Indie rock and folk music has proved a hit with audiences, and earlier this year he was the opening act for top comedian, John Bishop.

Northop Youth Band

Members of this 30-strong band range from 10 years of age upwards! The band plays to audiences of all sizes at various events in the area. New members are always welcome and practice nights are Tuesdays and Thursdays from 18.30 to 20.00.

The band will be performing at 11.00-11.40 on Sunday.

Platform 1

We are a three piece, bilingual band based in Carmarthenshire and, since getting together three years ago, we have performed at gigs in our local area and further afield. We describe our music as: “stripped back, melodic, self-penned music with hints of rock, country, folk and polka; using electric, acoustic and bass guitars creating a sound that is often mellow but on occasions upbeat.”

Babylon Leaf

Babylon Leaf are an electric acoustic band from North Wales and have been gigging and recording songs since the turn of the millennium in various set ups.

Babylon Leaf play numerous original songs, some old and some new. They also play a variety of cover tracks in their own distinctive style which stand out from the crowd.
